This is probably the problem. Portage does *not* work with Python 2.3 yet, and AFAIK, any patches to make it work are unofficial. I guess the new Portage probably broke the patch -- I'd suggest you roll back to Python 2.2 and wait for an official release. -- Andrew Farmer [EMAIL PROTECTED]
