I would try saying "y" to CONFIG_SOUND= and all your alsa stuff instead of "m", and "y" to the line under PCI devices: # CONFIG_SND_CS46XX_NEW_DSP=y Mine also has this set to "y" # # Generic devices # CONFIG_SND_DUMMY=y Then recompile.
