Samba makes use of LDAP if the ldap USE flag is set, once it is compiled with LDAP support you cannot turn it off without a recompile.


So either edit make.conf and remove ldap from your USE flags, the re-emerge samba or re-emerge samba with the following command:

# USE="-ldap" emerge samba

This will just disable LDAP support while building samba.
