Hi, I would like to get the configuration that used on the LiveCD (Athlon-XP) That I bought from the Gentoo Store. Can I get this (reliably) from the running system when I boot from the CD, using something like
cat /proc/configuration>/root/.config-althlon-xp and then copy this to /usr/src/linux as .config and do a make oldconfig? I'm sort of making this up as I go, which is dangerous, but the CD kernel seems to work pretty well with my NForce2 motherboard and I want to get this at least working before I worry too much about optimizing the kernel.
