Yep, a temporary color stripper for the current (or next) command entered in the shell.
Text in light colors (yellow, light cyan etc.) is almost unreadable in a typical x-shell with white window bg; emerge is such a candidate.. :)
I use a black bg xterm, and the blues that emerge uses are almost impossible to read.
