packages.gentoo.org is offline at the moment as there is an undetermined bug in the system that causes loads to go off the charts. It's either a bug in the code or a conflict with the kernel settings on the new kernel we just installed.
We're looking at the problem and as soon as we have it fixed, we'll bring it back online. --kurt
