I get it as both root and user. There is no 'MozillaFirebird' in /usr/bin like with the normal(non-cvs) Thunderbird ebuild.
If it's a binary build, you will find the executable in /opt/MozillaThunderbird/...
Otherwise:
1. updatedb 2. locate MozillaThunderbird
The only 'MozillaThunderbird' it finds is a directory in /usr/lib
