Hi, I'm currently trying to install Gentoo Linux on a Toshiba notebook using a Linksys Etherfast PCMPC100 PCMCIA card. The computer currently has Mandrake Linux (9.2) on it & the card works using the axnet_cs driver. Networking fails with Gentoo since this is missing from the Gentoo CD. I did a search of the internet and found some warnings detailing an possible problem with axnet_cs from earlier this year (perhaps this is why it is missing from the networking modules?):
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/archive/4/2003/01/3/41363 This is however the only card I've got & it would be nice to get it working with Gentoo, if it's possible. Does anyone know what the current status of this driver is? One of the reasons I chose this card is that some Toshiba notebooks are a bit finicky about which cards they'll accept (cannot use cardbus) & this one was recommended. If I must get a new card which uses the standard driver, are there any recommended ones? Thanks, Douglas. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
