netstat -nlp
You should have a line like this
unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING     4874   2556/xfs            
/tmp/.font-unix/fs-1

If not, firstly I'd try stopping and restarting xfs.
I use xfs, with the same config as you (the default) on at least 2 boxes and it works 
fine.
