I don't know if this is related, but I do an emerge -u -p world and it gives me the same things along the countless other updates, even though I have them installed (the latest masked versions, however, because I'm using nForce2 and a GeForceFX 5700 which the stable versions aren't compatible with). [ebuild N ] sys-apps/i2c-2.8.1 [ebuild N ] sys-apps/lm-sensors-2.8.1 [ebuild N ] media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.4496-r3 It also wishes to "upgrade" to a lower version: [ebuild U ] media-sound/xmms-1.2.7-r23 [1.2.7-r20] instead of "downgrade": [ebuild UD] net-im/gaim-0.72-r1 [0.74-r1] and this just freaks me out: [ebuild N ] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.4.22-r4
