-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 yesterday I updated my system (emerge -U world) .. and computer froze while compiling KDE base.. so I rebooted and updated again.. this time everything was successfull.
Today however I swapped the ram out of my machine with more ran, and when I rebooted I recived a lot of errors.. and it kept telling me to run /sbin/depscan.sh .. so I logged in as root and ran depscan.sh and this was the output Caching service dependencies... Can't find service 'checkroot' needed by 'domainname'; continuing... Can't find service 'localmount' needed by 'gpm'; continuing... Can't find service 'localmount' needed by 'hdparm'; continuing... Can't find service 'localmount' needed by 'numlock'; continuing... Can't find service 'checkroot' needed by 'hostname'; continuing... so I checked /etc/init.d so see if somehow when I did etc-update checkroot and localmount got screwed somehow.. but they didn't.. so I figured for somereason they were not started.. so I tried to start them.. and it told me they were already running.. any ideas? - -- General Protection Fault!
