I already tried this, but it doesn't seem to help:Don't specify the version and see what you get.
bash-2.05b# emerge -p kdelibs
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] media-libs/libid3tag-0.15.0b
[ebuild N ] media-libs/libmad-0.15.0b-r1
[ebuild U ] kde-base/arts-1.1.5 [1.1.2]
[ebuild U ] kde-base/kdelibs-3.1.5 [3.1.2]
emerge -p kde and emerge -p kdelibs
If there are no blockers, then emerge them with the -u or -U option.
Unless of course, you want that particular version then you should use the --usepkg option or specify
emerge -k kde-base/kde-3.1.4
