But it would be nice to have a way to get at lest rid of the "nomirror"-restiction of SF.net-file for example, because it would enable you to have those filse on an private mirror and to get them fetched for there during install (e.g. you havbe at home only ISDN but can carry large amounts of data home on a notebook (or portable hard-disk) form work or university or ....
The only reason for nomirror is in my opinion to move the load from the gentoo-mirrors to the already overloaded sf-mirrors ....
but it can get very annoying during install of kde for example ...

Licensing usually. We might not have the right to mirror something, or you (user) have to agree to a license to get the software.
the thing above applies here to but never mind that are very less files that you have in a normal installation
