Duh! Went through the wireless.opts file a little more carefully this time and found the section at the top that matches everything that I forgot to remove. I think you mentioned it previously but I was thinking of the essidany case. Seems to have worked. :-) Of course, I'm remote again and forgot to rc-update add sshd before I left so I could get back in to check after the reboot. Will know when I return at lunch, though.
