More appropriately all Gfx cards suck. Nvidia just sucks a little bit less than the others. I have been trying to move away from the proprietary drivers, thus got an Ati 9250. So it works with Xorg and has the 3D dri driver, everything should work fine right? Wrong. The radeon driver in Xorg 6.8-r3 is fairly borked. I run 1600x1024 and indeed it sets the desktop to that but only sets the card to 1280x1024. On the other hand, the Nvidia driver works fine at 1600x1024, eveon on my Opteron system. Maybe someday Gfx will work properly, but I don't have much hope. Bob -- [email protected] mailing list
