I think this assumption is wrong (although it may be -me- who's wrong... <shrug>), but I have a feeling it's 'cuz you're trying to run this as a normal user, or you don't have X running. Try running it under X, either as root, or with sux (instead of su'ing to root; sux does the same thing, but allows root access to X)... -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
