1. Did you do stage1, stage2, or stage3 install?
2. What CD's did you download and use?
3. If you can boot to the Gentoo LiveCD, please post the following:
NOTE: I'm assuming that /boot == /dev/hda1 and / == /dev/hda3. If that's
not correct, substitute the correct values. This is assuming that your
computer has a single IDE hard drive.
# fdisk -l /dev/hda
# mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo
# mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/gentoo/boot
# cat /mnt/gentoo/boot/grub/grub.conf
# cat /mnt/gentoo/etc/fstab
# ls -l /mnt/gentoo/boot
