Recently I was looking for solution of the similar problem, I think. I
have a big partion of documentation. Many web pages, doc files, texts, and
so on... This is the data that is very good to compress and because I'm
not using it very often, I'm not afraid of speed penality at all. I wanted
to find something like compressed file system. But all I found is file
system knoppix uses, that can not be modified "on the fly"... This is the
area where Linux sucks. BTW. I don't know OS where I could have something
similar...
