First you need to know that the DMA option is valid for the disk and/or
chipset that you're using.  Try to manually enable the DMA from the command
line.  Once you get the right options for DMA (meaning that hdparm enables
it without reporting an error), you'll have the options that you can use in
/etc/conf.d/hdparm.

I'm not familiar with the hardware you're using, but if you can't enable DMA
from the command line you won't be able to enable it from the boot scripts.
