There is an e17 ebuild at x11-wm/e called e-9999.ebuild, which fetches from cvs
It is masked -*, so you will have to unmask it and all dependencies to emerge. 

Check out lude.net/edocs for some rather helpful documentation on
getting e17 installed and other e17 related stuff
