you guys were right, it was a cflags issue, i removed -march=powerpc and -ftracer and it seems to me working now, i had those on my other PC boxes and it has been working fine, guess some flags arent compatible with a PPC, is there a list somewhere that tells you what is compatible and what is specific to the arch? because i tried using mtune on one of my p4 machines and it puked on that. so i dont know....at least its plugging away now on the bootstrap, thanks for the help
