OpenOffice is precompiled, and therefor it references dynamic libraries, that might not be present on your system.

Opera is also precompiled. Well, the ebuild does install unnessary files, but well, ignore those. This are common troubles with precompiled packages.


Use "revdep-rebuild -p", check the output and only rebuild the packages that really need it.
