You need to remove arts from the USE flags if you want to compile it without kdemultimedia. I recommend you install version 1.2, it's ~ masked, because it is so much improved over the older version. Set your USE flags to include "-arts -kde". -- Neil Bothwick Indecision is the key to flexibility.
