Harry, maybe you can try "od -c /boot/grub/grub.conf" (or open with your favorite hex/binary editor) and look for any garbage hidden characters that may have snuck in. Or try rewriting it from scratch. -Richard -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
