I see you're using the stable branch... When the stuff currently in the 
testing branch goes stable, it will be.

Exactly. There's been a bit of debate over this. Apparently (according to the 
Gentoo Apache people), you're not supposed to use that location, but use 
vhosts instead, but I can't seem to find any documentation to support that, 
or what the 'Gentoo way' of doing that would be...
