I was assisting on an gentoo install for my friend's computer using the newly released 2005.0 install CD. The install CD boots up fine, but after I partition the hard drive and create the filesystem (reiserfs) I cannot mount the newly created OS.

The error it stated was:
mount: /dev/hda1 already mounted or /mnt/gentoo busy

This is pretty strange since the disk is not mounted and I am able to do other operations on the block device.

I get the same error when I try to run swapon on partition 2.
swapon: device or resource busy

Thanks in advance,
