welcome, GENTOO_MIRRORS is used when downloading source packages *not* with "emerge --sync" Some servers host both rsync (used for syncing) and http/ftp (to download packages) but the things can be totally divided. -- No problem is so formidable that you can't walk away from it. ~ Charles M.
