daemontools has been moved from category sys-apps to sys-process.
The qmail ebuild has been updated in version 1.03-r13 to reflect this change. I looks like your trying to merge an older version of the qmail ebuild. This ebuild is stable on x86, so what arch are you using? stable/testing?
More info on what portage will merge: $ emerge -avt qmail
