yeah, ecxept of NEC, Plextor and LG nobody builds own drives anymore. And this oem-drives only differ in their firmware (but this sometimes very dramatically). Good drives are compatible to a wide range of blanks and do know when to reduce speed for safety. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
