My CFLAGS aren't so daft:

CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"

and my kernel is 2.6.11-hardened-r1 (hardened-sources).  I have a hard
time believing all four machines have bad hardware.  They are all
using that kernel.  Could that be it?  If so, could it be a bad
configuration of the kernel?
