xdg .*.bash_profile:# XDG_MENU_PREFIX needed for alacarte menu 
editor..bash_profile:export XDG_MENU_PREFIX="gnome-"Yours should be 
XDG_MENU_PREFIX="xfce4-"Also check your /etc/xdg directory.
