No need to go crazy! :-) Run MAKEOPTS="-j1" emerge -uaDv app-editors/vim and post here the error. This may be shown a few pages above where the emerge fails - so you will need to scroll up a bit. Hopefully someone on this list would know what to suggest. PS. Also check https://bugs.gentoo.org/ in case someone has already reported this problem. -- Regards, Mick
