Hi folks, it seems the latest xorg-server update also changed the German standard keyboard layout, since the tilde is no longer a dead key. I verified that the standard variant is still used, I have no ~/.Xkbmap or /etc/X11/Xkbmap or (Xmodmap or Xresources), so the standard must have changed.
Where is this defined and how do I get back the "normal" behavior? If you're used to a tilde working as dead key, the original key sequence like produced for e.g. this annoying example: rm -rf ~ /tmp I wand my dead key back! Anyone? Cheers, Jörg
