A good Linux friend who works with IBM Netherlands as a Linux/FOSS expert told me of ESET in 2003. He was my Slackware mentor (my distro before Gentoo). He implemented ESET on the Windows clients of one of his accounts, Green Peace. I have only had one customer since 2003 get infected using ESET, and that was because he turned it off. It has such a small footprint, and does a great job. It's got a lot of other nice tools in the Smart Security suite, such as the ability to track your stolen laptop if you set it up.
