Howdy, Is having duplicate packages a good or a bad thing in gentoo? I'm clear about having duplicate packages for the kernel. I'm using the more recent one, but hanging on to the old one just in case.
Perhaps, the reason for having duplicate packages is the fact that various packages I have installed on the system may require a different version of a package I may already have installed.
