Thanks for your input.

x86_pkg_temp_thermal is not found either in filenames, nor in the files
themselves residing in /etc.

I've set CONFIG_X86_PKG_TEMP_THERMAL to 'n' in my kernel config file,
and recompiled the kernel.

Everything seems OK so far.
