Excluding comments, it is like this: en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8 en_US ISO-8859-1 ru_RU.KOI8-R KOI8-R ru_RU.UTF-8 UTF-8 ru_RU ISO-8859-5 ru_UA.UTF-8 UTF-8 ru_UA KOI8-U uk_UA.UTF-8 UTF-8 uk_UA KOI8-U I have not changed this file since installation of Gentoo about 15 months ago. Yet a few days ago I had no problem with my Russian keyboard layout and still have no problem with my Ukrainian keyboard layout.
