Ah. I have a couple of chroots on my workstation for compiling packages for small boxes. I suggest you do the same. As long as you know all the right USE flags, etc., it should be much quicker to build the system in the chroot, then rsync /usr/portage to the target box and install from packages. -- Rgds Peter.
