I’m trying to install GNOME this morning on my new work laptop and it fails out, complaining about OpenSSL:
|!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled !!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict: dev-libs/openssl:0 (dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2f:0/0::gentoo, installed) pulled in by >=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8f:0[bindist=] required by (net-misc/openssh-7.1_p2-r1:0/0::gentoo, installed) ^^^^^^^^ (dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2f:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by >=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8g:0[-bindist] required by (net-voip/telepathy-gabble-0.18.3:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) ^^^^^^^^ | I figure that this probably has to do with the GLSA that I saw in the forums, but I don’t know how to get GNOME installed at this point. Am I understanding correctly that openssh requires the |bindist| use flag, while telepathy-gabble requires that it be explicitly unset? Is this a conflict that can ever be resolved, and if not, how can this be a thing when openssh is basically standard software on all Linux machines?
