-g has to be on in both CFLAGS and LDFLAGS, I think. Stripping is disabled with FEATURES=" ... nostrip ..." in make.conf, I hope it also works as an environment variable but I am not positive. -- Please don't Cc: me privately on mailing lists and Usenet, if you also post the followup to the list or newsgroup.
