I see it's to go into the latest upstream kernel - well, of course it is. Up
to now I've stuck with the stable version 5.4.x, but it looks as though I'll
have to upgrade to unstable. Or I could just stick with gcc-9.x, but that
would only be temporary.

Since 5.4 is an LTS kernel, I'm pretty sure it will also get the fix.
