Hi David-

I've never used bluetooth before, much less done an emerge of
gnome-bluetooth, but a quick and simple search on
http://bugs.gentoo.org for the string:

gnome-bluetooth

yielded the following link:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113460

Which describes your issue, and contains workarounds in the form of an
ebuild patch, or a manual edit method for fixing the issue.

I don't know why no-one responded to your mail previously, but one
thing you may want to check out in the future prior to sending an
e-mail to the list is http://bugs.gentoo.org - you might get quicker
results in some situations! :)

HTH-

James
