If it was a switch problem, it should not be specific to some addresses. Have you contacted your ISP? You may have to get past the first level of support to get someone that knows something, but they may be able to do some ping/traceroute tests from their end to see what the problem with the IP address is. The other option is to get a second PCMCIA card, and swap them when you have trouble.
