Just adding something. Since the package is already installed, you can type:
equery u net-print/hplip It should give you a description of what each USE flag means. And it works with every package. If you get a command not found error, emerge gentoolkit to get the equery program :) Regards, Raphael 2006/3/30, Teresa and Dale <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > >USE flags doubts (again). > > > >If I run this command: > > > >emerge -pv hplip > > > >the output is: > >[ebuild R ] net-print/hplip-0.9.7-r3 +X +cups +foomaticdb -ppds +qt > >+scanner* -snmp +usb 0 kB > > > >There are 5 flags prefixed by a plus and red coloured (+X, +cups, > >+foomaticdb, > >+qt and +usb). If you need it, edit make.conf file and put it in the > USE= line. The snmp is this: "snmp - Adds support for the Simple > Network Management Protocol if available."
