Don't worry about that warning, I get it every time I use VMware and have not had any issues. I run VMware Mon-Fri for a good 8 hours. I use it for work. Maybe I will look into the gdk-pixbuf.loaders issue if I find some time. Though as I stated, I have not had one issue because of it, I even played a few smaller games under VMware like Heroes of Might and Magic III.
