It appears to have been fixed in gentoolkit-0.2.2. After a sync and an upgrade: $ equery depends fam [ Searching for packages depending on fam... ] gnome-base/gnome-vfs-2.12.2 kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.3-r1 But for you, when you've removed the fam flag, this should still output nothing, I suppose. There's room for improvement,though: $equery depends gamin [ Searching for packages depending on gamin... ] Equery should detect that gamin provides a virtual, and then check for the dependents of that.
