Yike, sorry posters,... I see the problem now. Somehow PORTDIR_OVERLAY had gotten abbreviated to RTDIR_OVERLAY in /etc/make.conf All is well with both esearch and eix once that was corrected. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
