[gentoo-user] New install - startx not starting

The kernel seems good, I've added 'gpm', and 'xorg-x11'. startx fails complaining about:
   (EE) Failed to load module "radeon" (module does not exist, 0)
   (EE) No drivers available.

My question - how do I get/build this module?
