One way to get a known mirror is to do this command: emerge -fp <package name> It will give you a list of mirrors that should have the file and the address for it too.
That assumes he has the information about the mirror/package stored locally. I think he's asking because his wireless card doesn't work under gentoo but does under XP, so non-local data is impossible to snag. ;-) -Drew -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
