I use vesafb-tng for frame buffer, the intel driver gave me too much grief for not enough return (although I last tried it over a year ago). For DRI I use the drm_i915 and agp_intel modules. I also have 915resolution emerged, your need for that depends on whether your monitor has widescreen.
